Abstract
  • The ordained minister as theologian assists others in discovering the intersection of their personal stories and the biblical story. The process begins with human experience, articulates the meaning of that experience, then diagnoses those meanings with the church's biblical and theological formulations. Underlying this process is an understanding of language as abstraction, a product of human imagination. From these understandings, an adolescent confirmation program is developed. The Faith Development Model of James Fowler is used as a check of this program. Mapping becomes a metaphor for the theological task of the ordained minister.
