Abstract
  • The purpose of this project was to research Baptist history, doctrine, and distinctives and to develop a curriculum for educating new members of First Baptist Church of Westcliffe, Colorado, in Baptist beliefs. The curriculum which was developed as a result of the research is intended to encourage an identity that is reflective of Southern Baptist doctrine. The project used member assimilation materials of responding Southern Baptist churches, as well as information gleaned from publications. The project was evaluated by a group consisting of a pastor and former seminary professor, current seminary professors, and church members.
