This project proposes and designs a four-hour course in biblical, theological, and homiletical foundations of pastoral preaching for the Teacher/Leader Clinic of the Kansas City (Kans) Baptist Association. Adopting the dominant metaphor of 'shepherd' for a pastoral preacher in a local church, the project identifies six preaching targets--equipping people, assisting people to be useful for acts of service, unifying people, helping people mature, preparing an unshakable people, and evangelizing people--and offers practical considerations to help preachers hit these targets.
