Abstracto

The purpose of this thesis was to develop and implement a pastoral care program for the Wetaswkiwin Hospital District no 81. The program was assessed as to its importance and effectiveness by patients/residents, staff, doctors and by three colleagues. The developing and implementing phrase was an action research, while the exploring stage was a survey study based on questionnaires, interviews and opinionnaires. Pastoral care was seen as an important, integral part of the overall healing team and its effectiveness was confirmed by all participants. Pastoral care-givers need to be most effective in communicating God's love and presence even in suffering.
