Abstract
  • The purpose of this research project was to provide a biblical model for selecting church leaders at Sellersburg United Methodist Church in Sellersburg, Indiana and the Old Bethel United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. Members of the congregations were surveyed following six sermons on Romans 12 and five sermons on Old Testament heroes. Additionally, participants attended a two-day retreat and completed pre- and post- surveys. The results of the survey confirmed that daily worship should be a prerequisite to church leadership. Recommendations include the development of a tool to facilitate the selection process of church leaders where the prerequisite is daily worship.
