- Abstract
- Lay persons can be trained to facilitate the mourning process. The primary help laity can give is a ministry of listening presence. Normal and abnormal mourning characteristics are described, knowledge of which is an essential component of training. Included is a survey of a theological and scriptural basis for grief. An illustrative, four session event training laity to assist mourners is described.
