Abstract
  • Using research from the Church Growth movement, the author organized a mid-week program for the 'Baby Boomer' generation. The project consolidated educational classes and choir rehearsals for all ages into one night with a catered meal. Analyzing a random sample survey, attendance records and evaluations, the author measured 0% to 44% increases in worship, choir, Sunday School and finances after ten months. While participants reported a higher degree of commitment, fewer trips to the church and a strong desire for the program to continue, it was difficult to attribute the numerical increases solely on the merits of the program apart from the new building and additional staff that had made the mid-week program possible.
