- Abstract
- The project records a United Methodist pastor's efforts to help fifteen couples better the communication in their marriages. The central hypothesis of the project is that pastoral openness to anger and disillusionment are crucial to the reestablishment of contact. The project employs three home visits and nine group sessions to investigate the depth of marital conversation, marital dynamics, developmental histories, ethical issues of family life and faith issues arising from pastoral involvement. The research notes increased capacity to communicate and to reflect on ethical issues. Six of the fifteen couples join local churches.
