- Abstract
- Seventh-day Adventists pastors are routinely reassigned, or 'moved' to different congregations within a prescribed geographical area, referred to as local conferences. The author has studied the moving procedures used by the Lake Region, Northeastern, and Allegheny East conferences. Included in the study is the impact that moving has on the pastors, their families, and the congregations. Following a series of interviews, case studies and discussions with a moving review process team, the conclusion was, the conferences of focus needed to develop a formal moving process, rather than informal procedures. A formal process was developed, preceded by guidelines and principles.
