Abstract
  • This project reflects the purpose, process, and product of a 2 1/2 day seminar on church growth, focusing on effective urban ministries in the 21st century. The seminar offered thirty workshops and four plenary sessions, addressing four areas of concern: 1) church development; 2) Christian living; 3) contemporary issues; and 4) community development. The ultimate goal was to challenge African American churches to fulfill mandates of Scripture and embrace a theology of growth, while remaining existentially relevant to African American culture, thus expanding expressions of the love of Jesus and the walls of inclusion within the African American community.
