Abstrakt

This project-thesis is an eight-week religious education study course for midshipmen at the United States Naval Academy. Each session included Bible study, class exercises, the use of student journals, and assigned tasks to be accomplished between class sessions. The course introduced the concept of transition moments as life situations requiring decisions, identified examples of those experiences in a midshipman's career, and related the Christian gospel to those moments as a resource for personal and spiritual growth. A student evaluation of the course indicated that the concept of transition moments was understood and applied to personal experiences within the brigade. Further, the evaluation suggested that once having identified transition moments in their daily routines, midshipmen valued the scriptural material as potential resource for information.
