Abstract
  • The purpose of this project is to develop an understanding of the covenant relationship between a local church and the United Church of Christ. Implementation requires a sound theological understanding of the covenant relationship between God and God's people and a grounding in the covenant traditions of the four major denominations comprising the United Church of Christ. A group of Hope Church, Congregational members studied the dynamic relationship between autonomy and covenant as it exists among the members and churches of the United Church of Christ. Members of that group comprise the covenant group of Hope Church.
