Abstract
  • If the church fails to minister to the divorced it will fail to minister to a significant segment of society. A twelve-hour seminar was designed to expose participants to the various ways pertinent scriptural passages have been interpreted and to extenuating circumstances which lead to divorce. An attitudinal test was designed and administered prior to and following the seminar. As well, pragmatic reasons for preserving marriage, methods of counseling, and methods of teaching for attitudinal change are discussed in the thesis. Teaching which gives people a better understanding of the divorced enables people to become more accepting of the divorced.
