Abstract
  • The New Church Start Pastors' Academy was created to recruit and train pastors to start new churches. A curriculum, based on a scriptural, theological and historical foundation, was built around the church start and growth methodology used at Cornerstone United Methodist Church in West Chester, Ohio. It was developed to aid academy participants in evaluating their call to this ministry and to teach team-building and leadership development techniques based on the central truth that Jesus is Lord. Results of the model show that participants have found the academy beneficial to both their current and potential church-planted ministries.
