Abstrait
  • Today's television-saturated culture challenges preachers to consider television's pervasive influence. The thesis is that preachers' knowledge of television as a means of social communication and their skills for assessing media messages enhance preaching in a television-saturated culture. Chapter One reviews the main communication eras and how each affected communication. Chapter Two assesses television's imaging of life and illustrates basic myths portrayed by television. Chapter Three provides a theology of communication based on the Trinity. Chapter Four explores television's hegemony and the critical demystification of television. Chapter Five includes homiletic principles and strategies. Chapter Six contains a curriculum for a workshop.
