Abstracto

This thesis explores how a narrative and imagistic approach to preaching can initiate a transformative, healing process in a traumatized African-Caribbean Seventh-day Adventist worship context. The thesis reflects critically on the contextualized stories of the congregation and the search for a nonpropositional preaching style, which could effectively create a conversation between the claims of God in the biblical story and the personal life stories of individuals, in order that they may begin to reimagine a new way forward. through contemporary hermeneutics, the thesis shows that an acknowledged presupposition provided by one's context is vital in initiating a Transformative Preaching process.
