The author's concern in this project is the need for better relationships between mission organizations and the churches they have planted. This paper studies the reasons for church-mission tensions and proposes general solutions leading to a specific strategy. The author, in addition to library research, draws upon his own personal experience of 13 years in Zaire. A new model for church-mission partnership, characterized by mutual responsibility and interdependence is suggested. Called 'project mode,' this new paradigm for participatory partnership was submitted to 23 mission organizations for their evaluation. Their responses are included in the concluding chapter.
