  • This project encourages pastors who are also artists to claim their artistic voice as a valid and vital part of their well-being and their ministry. The author studied clergy-artists, burn-out and renewal, and the artistic heritage of Charles Wesley. Through interviews with several clergy-artists and accounts of one pastor's artistic journey in three churches including art ministry in the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, the author unpacks the nuances of creativity and spirituality as it relates to this dual calling of artist and pastor, and offers insights particular to clergy-artists, their churches, and their supervisors.
