- This project proposes that a new connectionalism based on collaborative decision-making, mutual support, and mutual respect must be developed to respond to the decline of 'mainline' Protestant churches in the US. The project finds a 'mediated fellowship' emerging from the early church's debate over entrance requirements as recorded in Acts 15, and explores this concept in the Mississippi Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church (USA). In the Presbytery context the project develops a committee on ministry policies and guidelines and a collaborative and connectional decision-making model for congregational use.
