Abstracto

The researcher's methodology included a working definition of the word 'disciple' and establishing biblical basis for disciple-making. He also examined a wide range of literature, explored Malawian traditional forms of discipleship, and the role played by the rites of passage to create a true African personhood. This led to a contextualized discipleship model that is true to biblical principles and at the same time sensitive to the host culture. The author concluded that Christ's disciples spread the teachings, values, goals, and lifestyle of their Master. Discipleship reduces backdoor losses, improves the quality of ministries, and fulfills the Gospel Commission.
