Abstract
  • This thesis study assesses the theological, psychological and scientific evidence in support of and in opposition to homosexual causation. The author's method of study includes educated sources such as theological commentaries, lexicons, secular and religious reference books, journals, newspapers, the internet and personal interviews. The conclusion the author reaches is that the debate centered on biblical interpretation of scripture is subjective to one's Christian faith persuasion. The biblically orthodox Christian faith belief opposes homosexuality and supports the traditional family value system. The unorthodox Christian viewpoint favors a revisionist theology that redefines homosexual practice as ordained by God and therefore morally acceptable. The scientific and psychological evidence in favor of homosexual causation is purely hypothetical and inconclusive.
