Abstract
  • The aim of this project was to create a manual for pastors to aid them in understanding the bonding process, whereby congregations become emotionally attached to their pastors, to help pastors evaluate the state of bonding which exists, and to provide principles to enhance this bonding process. The author draws principles from Apostle Paul's relationship with the Corinthians, interpersonal theory, and pastoral theology. The manual presents a three-step program: education, evaluation, and application. The evaluation section provides the pastor with four instruments to evaluate the existing bonding.
