  • In this dissertation I examine the strategic role that lament plays in developing a spiritual theodicy for queer Christians and our advocates in the exile we experience because of prejudice and AIDS-related multiple loss. Based on a critical review of contemporary literature on grief and queer spirituality, and the findings from the a variety of workshops, I demonstrate how the restoration of lament to the spiritual guidance offered by pastoral care-givers deepens the spiritual formation of anyone suffering acute loss with the hope of achieving spiritual wholeness and prophetic power in witness to God's abiding loving presence.
