Abstract
  • The thesis to be tested is if the traditional Igbo Igba Ndu ritual of reconciliation could be an important response to domestic violence against women in Igbo land. Implied in this thesis is the question of whether the traditional rulers of the Igbo society could collaborate with the Catholic Church in Igbo land, using the customary ritual resource in Igbo culture as a means of reconciling couples of Igbo land who are dominant Christians, so that peace and harmony might thrive in Igbo society.
