The project rests on the conviction that experienced retired interim pastors offer valuable resources for pastors engaged in interim work and for pastors who may be considering interim work following retirement. The author conducts in-depth interviews with 13 retired persons, each of whom has served in two or more interim capacities. He studies dynamics of interim work along with the impact of retirement upon pastors. The results are sharply focused. They are offered in the hope that the material will be a source of information and inspiration for ministers who are retired, or preparing for retirement.
