In the urban setting, the church today has returned to the setting and challenges similar to those of the Apostle Paul's ministry. In Paul's time, and now, the church must adjust to and work within the city's changing environment. The Lutheran Church in North America has met some of these challenges. Historical study and biblical research support this thesis. Census demographics suggest specific mission and service opportunities for St Mark's Lutheran congregation, located in an urban rim of St Louis.
