Abstract
  • This dissertation examines the insufficiency of models used in the formation of launch teams in starting new churches and provides a model for launch team formation. A qualitative study was conducted using grounded theory. Interviews with church planting experts, church planters, and an online survey were the primary data sources. The online survey helped triangulate the data and provided a quantitative element to the research. This research found that relational connectedness was critical to people hearing, connecting, and staying in a new church. Relational connectedness is the willingness and ability to connect various relationships together.
