Abstract
  • To what degree will a small group of African-American Baptist church members experience spiritual growth from the practice of the twelve classic disciplines of spiritual formation and discovering their spiritual gifts as demonstrated in their relationship with God, self, and others? A small group met for twelve weekly meetings to learn to practice spiritual disciplines and discover their spiritual gifts. A pre-test and post-test were administered as well as a self-evaluation and course evaluation. The assessment tools and personal reflections demonstrated that the group members experienced spiritual formation through the process.
