  • This work focuses on the priorities a pastor can employ to heal a congregation recovering from a split. It is primarily concerned with pastors coming to a congregation after the split and working with a remaining congregation. Expository preaching, joint discovery and ownership of a vision, fostering communication, and pastoral availability are the priorities espoused in this thesis. Under the direction of the Holy Spirit a pastor can implement these priorities and create a community of renewal, which will empower the church's restoration. Both New Testament era and modern day examples of division and restoration are highlighted.
