- St. Mark's Church, desiring to be inclusive and inviting, maintains a culture of inhospitality. Christian responsibility to extend hospitality today grows out of a unique convergence of societal need, biblical call and understanding of the church's mission. Therefore, St. Mark's seeks to become a hospitable community with effective ministries of invitation, welcome and inclusion. Utilizing a multi-faceted and educational change strategy, this project offers opportunities for reflection on the call to hospitality, exercises to practice hospitable behaviors and occasions to evaluate parish policies. The goal is to change the parish culture from one of aloof, if inadvertent, inhospitality to one of conscientious hospitality.
