  • The purpose of this project was to plan, implement, and evaluate the development of lay/clergy shared ministry of pastoral care. The project's uniqueness is its decade-long longitudinal perspective on the ministry developed. The project was undertaken among fourteen members in a two-church Episcopal parish in northeastern Pennsylvania. Results indicated that this ministry, as developed, has a central and identifying character in the parish and surrounding community. Lay caregivers and clergy affirmed its continuing value within the congregation.
