- This project proposes that the pastoral role of United Methodist District Superintendents is compromised by their supervisory tasks and responsibilities. Reflecting on experience with these conflicting roles in the UMC Kansas West Conference, the project concludes that pastoral care must remain part of every Superintendent's responsibility and offers guidelines for adjudicating conflicting roles.
