  • A small group can within a small-membership church can facilitate individual and community spiritual growth and development. Beginning with members of already-existing ministry groups, this project formed a 'Discipleship Group' for prayer, intentional reflection on personal practices of faith, and mutual accountability. Weaving together anecdotal responses to a concluding questionnaire and a number of texts in theology, spiritual formation, sociology, and small-group studies, the project demonstrates that it is possible to use a small group in a small-membership church as an avenue of revitalization and formation of disciples for Jesus Christ.
