In this thesis, I try to overcome the problems of old age that are the result of an aging society in Korea, as well as in the Korean church. I focus on the relation between spirituality and improvement in the quality of life of the elderly, for that is the way in which the problems of an aging society will best be tackled. To this end, I developed a program titled 'spiritual formation for improving the quality of life for the elderly.' The program ran for eight weeks in the Hyun-Nam Church where I am the senior pastor. The project was conducted with the help of three social workers, and the results were assessed with the help of a questionnaire. Through this program, the church can help improve the quality of life of the elderly in our community, revitalize their spiritual lives, and help them move towards a more beautiful and rewarding old age.
