  • This project was designed to raise educational aspirations of young black males in the local congregation of Enterprise Baptist Church, Bay City, Texas. The model design consisted of a pre- and post-test survey and three workshop presentations. This action research model involved both the researcher as well as participants to effect changes in attitudes toward educational achievements. The model shows that the participants are the victims of racial vulnerability and with training and nurturing, they can overcome this culprit by being cognizant of their culture, teacher expectations, the school curriculum, and seeking parental involvement.
