Abstract
  • A descriptive-evaluative study was conducted of undergraduate students who lived in a religious community as a means of pursuing their own personal, intellectual, and spiritual development. The methodology elucidated by Amedeo Giorgi, primarily by allowing the students' own experiences to explicate the story, made use of an open-ended questionnaire and interviews with 25 percent of the respondents. From these accounts of personal experiences the results indicate the importance of family of origin and inter-personal relationships particularly with the religious.
