Abstrait

This manual is designed for both lay and professional church leaders to enable congregations to grow through creative staffing. The term 'paraprofessional' is introduced, and the climate in the church creating the need for this new type of staffing is described. Growth is documented by a partial survey of the Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod congregations already using such staff. A biblical and confessional foundation for the paraprofessional model is developed. Basic guidelines for paraprofessional service in the church are drawn from experience.
