  • This project explored the complexities of The Good Shepherd United Church of Christ, Sahuarita, Arizona, doing humanitarian work with migrants along the US/Mexico Border. The thesis was, God impacts and transforms Samaritan volunteers through face to face encounters with the migrant, 'Jesus.' The research included interviewing eight participants who gave 'testimonios' that documented evidence of transformation. The evidence parallels Mark's Gospel where Jesus called people to follow his 'Way' that ultimately transformed all areas of a person's life. This project challenged the notion that being Christian is just about beliefs but is instead about following Jesus' extravagant love and compassion.
