- The thesis of this project is that a large church without an organized, systematic approach to discipleship is foregoing opportunities to assimilate individuals and families in the church body and its mission. The focus of the project is creating and implementing an assimilation process that encourages participants' faith in Christ, membership in Bear Valley Church, active participation in a Bible study, and the use of their gifts, talents, and personalities in expressing their faith. To prepare for the project the author read the appropriate literature and enlisted a leadership team. Multiple individuals participated in the assimilation classes. Several of those that completed the process joined Bear Valley Church, received instruction in basic spiritual principles, and gained a better understanding of how God has made them for specific areas of ministry.
