  • This research identifies administrative tasks in smaller churches and creates a manual of operations. The thesis of this dissertation is that essential administrative tasks in churches of 150 and under can be identified, prioritized and evaluated. A focus group of pastors identified twenty-five essential administrative tasks. A survey instrument was designed and sent to 460 churches of 150 and under. Approximately 133 pastors and 68 lay leaders responded to the survey and submitted data which was tabulated utilizing computer statistical analysis. Administrative strengths and weaknesses were identified. This research could be useful for determining the effectiveness of Bible school and seminary training programs.
