  • Research indicates that effectiveness in communication is increased when feedback is encouraged. When utilized, feedback can also enrich preaching. Following the examination of the components and phases of the process of communication, this dissertation describes the nature and role of feedback in modifying sermon content and delivery, identifies the sources, bases, and forms of acquiring feedback to preaching, and tests and evaluates some methods for acquiring feedback from a small group within a congregational setting. Included are the procedure followed in organizing the feedback group and the steps in the development and utilization of feedback forms. Strengths and weaknesses are also documented and suggestions made for further studies.
