- Abstract
- Elderly persons, once active in a local church but now unable to attend due to illness or infirmity, want and need contact with a caring Christian community. This project addresses these needs by pairing home-bound church members with church school members. The class member makes a weekly visit, plays a tape recording of the class session, discusses and records the home-bound member's reflections on the curriculum, and speaks about and for the elderly member at the next class meeting. This inclusion of 'forgotten' members has proved beneficial for the home-bound members, the class members, and the church.
