Abstract
  • The purpose of this study was to develop the use of a narrative-based training strategy for oral and literate partners involved cross-culturally in Bible translation. The author collected data on culture, leadership. orality, oral communicators, and narrative learning. She conducted interviews to document critical incidents and develop them into stories. An effective narrative-based strategy will be holistic and transformational, focusing on the unity shared in Christ and the spiritual dimension and nature of the reason for working together; it will engage the participants in discussion of the spiritual and cultural relevance of their own and others' stories of cross-cultural encounters.
