Abstrait

The author maintains that church growth principles are universal in scope, are not functionally independent and that their employment tends to produce measurable growth while their absence tends to impede growth. The author formulates eight principles from leading church growth authorities which are used as a basis of the analysis. The statistics, a survey of significant people and interviews of four recent superintendents form the basis of the data. The researcher concludes that the slow growth of the Mississippi District of the Church of the Nazarene is in part explained through the near absence of the selected church growth principles.
