Abstract
  • The goal of this project is to develop an accreditation program for Contact counseling centers. The project develops and tests a program and recommends it to the organization. The thesis is that this program, which identifies and measures sixty-three components of a successful telephone counseling ministry, is essential to the creation of a recognized national network of teleministry centers. A second goal is to provide a theological rationale for the commitment Contact has made to understanding its services as 'Christian ministry'. This rationale is provided by using a 'functional' definition of what it means to be Christian.
