Abstracto

The project was developed to reduce stress and to bring reconciliation to a local church functioning in a merged church context. Church leaders from both churches participated in a training program which focused on vision development and team building. Pre and post tests and interviews were utilized to measure the effectiveness of the program which revealed a marked reduction in the level of stress felt by the participants. It was also observed that training absent of decisions pertaining to governance related issues of power, authority, and roles may reduce the surface stress but is not enough to sustain the merger.
