- Abstract
- This project addressed the relational dynamics with two-pastor staffs in midsize churches, looking for factors that encourage long-term ministry partnership. Theological study evaluated team relationships in the Bible. Literature review covered pastoral staffing issues in the contemporary church, focusing on partnering factors. Case studies at applicable churches involved surveys and in-person interviews of the pastors. Grounded theory analysis of this field research identified three categories of factors essential to nurturing healthy, long-term ministry relationships: church-related issues, five differences between pastors that require personal emotional health to accept, and the relationships between the pastors.
