  • The congregation of Grant Chapel A. M. E. Church reflects the multicultural and socio-economic diversity of the Albuquerque, New Mexico region. While the church overall may be considered healthy, a problem exists in the way organizations and auxiliaries function. The situation results in members acting as individuals rather than a part of the whole. What is needed can be found in the identity of the early church as the body of Christ. The body of Christ in 1 Corinthians 12:4-26 provides an emphasis on relationships within the congregation of connection, coordination and accountability. This thesis seeks to enhance connection, coordination and accountability in as well as between organizations and auxiliaries through group activities of church officers.
