Abstract
  • The study critically reviews and analyzes the data and stories relevant to the development of urban mission in Melbourne, Australia, during the period 1980 to 1990. The study examines the theology and praxis of evangelism, social and community welfare, and the advocacy and practice of social justice of three participating urban mission organizations and three urban church communities. The research finding from this study and the oral histories recounted by urban mission practitioners consulted through the interviews, questionnaires and seminars in the process of research have been instrumental in formulating elements toward a contextual theology of urban mission.
