Abstracto

The project seeks to enhance adolescents' knowledge of sexuality and Christian values and to increase communication between parents and adolescents. Materials on biblical, theological and historical beliefs regarding sexuality are examined to formulate Christian values. Materials on adolescent sexuality, parenting, and surveys of local parents and adolescents are used to determine what needs to be taught. A series of three seminars on communicating sexual information are conducted for parents. Separate retreats are conducted for junior and senior high youth covering physiological information, biblical perspectives, emotional concerns and decision making. The writer finds that the combination of retreats and seminars does enhance knowledge of sexuality and communication between parents and adolescents.
